I listen, I ask questions, and I deliver results for Newberg:

I keep in close touch with our police department and supported their return to full staffing which is a reason Newberg ranks in the top 5 safest cities in Oregon.

I always vote for careful fiscal management.  Newberg is now in excellent financial shape, among the best of any major Oregon city.

During my 4 years on city council: Newberg’s communication tower loan was paid off 2 years early saving $300K. I voted for the new two-year budget process that saves taxpayer money, cancellation of the Construction Excise Tax, reduced SDC fees, and expanded enterprise zones. A new long-term City Manager contract saves money and ensures continued sound policies. Because of our financial security, we are now able to begin repairing Newberg’s neglected streets and improve their ADA access.

This year:

·         NO increase in Newberg property taxes!

·         Communications Officer fee removed from our water bill.

·         I opposed both the state gas tax and local gas tax.

I champion service and I am personally calling on Waste Management to fix the long lines at the Newberg Transfer Station. And I supported action resulting in our city permitting processes being reduced from weeks to days.

I will continue to provide safe streets, financial stability, and seek economic development that promotes livable wage jobs.

There has been some social media posts about Data Centers in our city. For the record, there are no Data Center plans for Newberg; Zero! I have asked the Mayor, Bill Rosacker, and he is not aware of anything like that either. This appears to be typical social media rabble rousing.
